Drawing Assesment

This is an A3 piece that combines the following two pieces of work. The idea was  to show two different contrasting pieces both using close ups of an animals face.
This is an A4 drawing of a wild boar, using pencil and ink. I used the pencil to create the shade, whilst i used pen to place the fur detail. Using the two media's in this way created a more interesting piece. This piece also contrasts greatly against the coloured drawing of the giraffe that sits next to it.
This is a close up of a giraffe head, done on an A4 piece of paper using Sian coloured pencils(think that is what it is called?). This is one of my only pieces of work done in full colour which I am proud of.  What makes it a working piece is from the subtle shades blending into one another and the shadows of the contours of the face are rich.
This is an A2 pencil drawing of a tiger. The piece has deliberately been left unfinished(mostly to do with the fact I got bored). The unfinished look  is something I admire in the piece, giving it a sort of edge or mystery about it. I particularly admire the way the pattern of the fur came out, and also how it still looks like fur rather than a 2D  pattern.

These are 2 A4 piece of work placed together to make an A3 piece of work. The two piece compliment each other in colour and in form. The drawings are of coral reef, drawn in a black pen. The pen allows a harsh contrast between shade and highlights, something my work often features. What makes the piece more advanced to previous work is the use of ripped up pieces of coloured card and 'fixing' them back together with masking tape. The colour gives the negative space ina nd around the drawing more of a form.

A2 life drawing piece done in 30 mins with black pen. From the few life drawing I have, this is my favourite one. The reason for this is because I have never successfully captured perspective in till now. Most  of my life drawings are pretty much straight on, but this is a more challenging pose.

This is a collage, A2 life drawing. The colours used are red, dark pink and 2 other shades of pink and a white. The pieces of tissue paper were ripped up into thin shreds and layered on top of one another to create the shadows of the body. It's a long process, also why it is unfinished.
